Recap: Moms for Good
We, as mothers, have the built-in skills to get through this | 5 min read
“We, as mothers, have the built-in skills of guidance, care, and self-regulation we need to get through this.”
Minnesota-based Reverend Ashley Harness grounded us during the Moms For Good virtual event hosted by Red Wine and Blue. Because right now, our state wants safety, clarity, and leadership.
Red Wine and Blue is a national community of women working to defeat extremism. Moms for Good is a movement mobilizing moms to turn fear and anger about ICE activity into action.
On Tuesday, 5,000 moms and caregivers showed up.
MN Chapter of Chamber of Mothers joined alongside allies like Moms Demand Action, Sisters Lead Sisters Vote, Moms First, and more.
We processed the death of Renee Nicole Good. We shared our grief and pain—and were reminded that goodness still exists. That communities across Minnesota are showing up for each other in deeply compassionate ways.
We heard from experts and organizers on what actually helps in moments like this:
🌟 Find your power: Choose the role that fits you (protesting, speaking up, writing, organizing, or supporting behind the scenes)
🌟 Slow misinformation: Share only trusted sources. Ask thoughtful and provocative questions, then follow-up.
🌟 Know your rights: Prepare ahead of time with this ACLU training.
🌟 Apply community pressure: Ask schools, employers, and businesses what plans they have to keep people safe now. If they don’t have one, keep asking.
Then we moved into action. Here are 3 things you can do NOW to protect your communities:
📣 Contact your local rep here (it takes 5 minutes)
📣 Join the Moms For Good Social Bank today at 6:30CT to amplify value-based messaging
📣 Join one of the partner communities taking action. You don’t have to do this alone
The events in Minnesota are heavy and asking a lot from all of us. But the gathering was a reminder of the power of collective community, hope, and motherhood.
MN Chapter leader Jennifer Elliott said it best: “At the end of the day, mothering is resistance. Raising kind, compassionate humans is more than enough.”
