Series: Building the future of maternity care (how Delfina saved a life)
No two journeys on Delfina are the same | 5 min read
“This baby wouldn’t be here if they didn’t have Delfina.”
That’s what a neonatologist told an OB using Delfina.
A pregnant mom in Texas started using Delfina Care. She had no obvious high-risk flags.
But Delfina’s predictive algorithms picked up early signals–and her OB saw it all in one place on the Delfina dashboard. From there, she prescribed aspirin and a blood pressure cuff, shipped to the patient’s home.
At 29 weeks, the Delfina app flagged that the patient’s blood pressure started trending up. Her OB brought her in early and confirmed evolving preeclampsia.
They mobilized quickly, and baby ‘Adam’ was born.
He spent some time in the NICU, but went home healthy. The neonatologist later said if this patient waited until her next 31 week visit, the baby likely wouldn’t be here.
That’s the difference early detection, and action, makes.
But this is just one version of what Delfina looks like IRL.
For other moms, it looks like:
🌟 Feeling more confident and prepared for delivery
🌟 Getting support beyond OB visits–from pregnancy through the 1st year postpartum–without having to leave home
🌟 Being intentional about her health, like tracking her mood and vitals (weight, blood pressure, and glucose).
No two journeys on Delfina are the same.
Sometimes it saves a life. Sometimes it helps a mom feel like herself again.
But every time–it’s care that shows up earlier, keeps patients connected between OB visits, sticks with them well after the 6 week postpartum visit, and actually supports her.
