Postpartum Support International’s support resources made me feel whole again | 3 min read

It’s hard to admit you're struggling.

But that’s why I do it.

Sugarcoating early motherhood doesn’t help anyone. It only adds guilt, shame, and disconnection when things don't go as expected.

When I became a new mom, it was a major life shift. After my second, postpartum anxiety hit harder because the sleep deprivation consumed me.

I kept pushing through. I was holding it together, until I hit a wall.

But I was one of the lucky ones that found my way to support.

I’m so grateful for Postpartum Support International, because I found a therapist using its provider directory. My therapist helped me feel whole again. And more importantly, gave me tools to reset faster, trust myself more, and show up more present.

1 in 5 new and pregnant moms experience a perinatal mental health disorder. Postpartum Support International offers a range of free support services to help new moms and families—including a national helpline, 50+ virtual support groups, peer mentors, local coordinators, and more.

Thanks Postpartum Support International for sharing my story – and for all you do to change the narrative of maternal mental health, so moms feel more empowered to ask for help.
